My wife Susanne and I are our sixties. We are helping raise our 9-year-old beautiful granddaughter Nayla. Her Daddy was medically retired from the Navy and he and our granddaughter have lived with us since she was 8-months-old. Nayla has been a blessing in our lives and we wouldn’t change a second in the years she has been here.
For me it has been especially great since when we were married our kids were from Susanne’s first marriage, they were 6 & 7 at the time. I adopted them by our first anniversary. I never had the pleasure (at least for me) to go through the baby stage. Experiencing that has been one of the greatest times in wife life. Everyday has been wonderful adventure since I first held in my arms the day she was born.
Susanne is stay-at-home grandma taking Nayla to ballet, acro, gymnastics and all the other after school activities. Susanne is also Nayla’s class homeroom mom. Susanne is also very active in church and Just Between Friends (JBF). By the way JBF is a great place to find children’s clothing, toys and everything else children. She also coordinates our HOA’s clubhouse rentals and pool access tags. And did I mention Susanne is also her 92-year-old mother’s caretaker.
